Nick Viviano, Director of Bands
Mr. Viviano is excited to enter his 6th year as Director of Bands at Chapel Hill High School.
A graduate of North Greenville University in Tigerville, SC, Mr. Viviano has performed in numerous collegiate ensembles including Wind Ensemble, Brass Quintet, Orchestra, and Brass Choir. He has also performed with the Carolina Crown Drum and Bugle Corps from Fort Mill, SC in 2009 and 2011, during which time the corps won the world title in brass performance.
Mr. Viviano has over a decade of experience as a music educator, having taught kindergarten through 12th grade during his career. He has served on the teaching staff and toured the continental US with the Troopers Drum and Bugle Corps from Casper, WY. From 2015-2016, he served as the visual program coordinator for Saints Indoor Percussion at Limestone University in Gaffney, SC. During his tenure at CHHS, he has led both concert and marching ensembles to receive consistently high ratings and accolades.
Alongside his teaching duties, Mr. Viviano is a member of numerous professional organizations, including the National Association for Music Education (NAfME), the Georgia Music Educators Association (GMEA), the International Tuba/Euphonium Association (ITEA), and the Percussive Arts Society (PAS). In 2021, he was selected to attend the WPS Institute Summer Fellowship Program in Boston, MA, where he worked closely with educational leaders from across the country to discover and implement new ideas for professional development in the field of education.
Mr. Viviano currently resides in Atlanta, GA where in his free time he enjoys attending concerts and music festivals, hiking, cycling, cooking, and spending time with his two cats, Theo and Finn.
